Agricultural Law
Agricultural law is far more than just the law
of farming. As farming has evolved into agri-business, effective
agricultural lawyers must be well-versed in commercial law, administrative
law, environmental law, business transactions, and government relations.
This modern and proactive approach is embraced by our attorneys,
who recognize that as the technology of farming advances, so must
the business aspects of farming.
Our agricultural practice focuses on the dairy industry and
cooperative law. Our attorneys have experience in navigating the
Agricultural Marketing Agreement Act and the Capper-Volstead Act.
Our attorneys bring a combined forty-one years of experience
in the dairy industry. We have had the good fortune to represent
cooperatives and dairy producers of every size from coast-to-coast
and border-to-border in both federal and state proceedings. We
take pride in understanding the particular operations and special
nature of both cooperatives and farms.
We also provide assistance in the area of waste
to energy. We have formed several cooperatives for that purpose
and are involved in the ever changing law of incentives for waste
energy systems.
In addition, we have represented parties in commodity
payments, loans, and other programs of the various agriculture
acts before county and state committees and the USDA.
We have represented clients in dozens of federal milk marketing
order hearings, as well as state agency hearings, federal litigation,
and state litigation. Yale Law Office, LP also actively participates
in the legislative process on behalf of its clients, presenting
information and position statements to Congressional offices and
state legislators.
